About You 😀

  • 2+ years experience in Content, Marketing, Journalism, Advertising or a related field
  • A words junkie who loves keeping up with the latest digital trends 
  • Capable of writing for any medium, from social to website copy to blogs
  • Comfortable interviewing subject matter experts and researching new topics
  • Excited to learn new skills and push creative limits when it comes to ideas and deliverables

About This Role 📝

The Associate Editor reports to one of our fantastic Senior Editors, Chris Heller, and is part of a team of editors, strategists, account people, and designers working with companies ranging from rapidly growing startups to leading financial institutions. You’ll support creative projects from ideation to execution, developing everything from social copy to campaign concepts to newsletters and blog posts. 

In this role, you’ll be working with clients, helping the agency continue to build trust and relationships.

You’ll also be working with other disciplines, including Design and Strategy. Codeword teams are cross-disciplinary, so if you love to collaborate, you’ll be in great company!

What You’ll Be Doing 🧩

  • Developing high-quality creative across a range of written formats (blog posts, video scripts, executive social posts … our clients want ‘em all!)
  • Contributing to brainstorms to come up with the next viral sensation
  • Collaborating with colleagues in Design, Accounts, and Strategy
  • Honing your inner anthropologist to become an expert on your client’s tech audience
  • Pitching on-trend (and ahead-of-the-trend!) campaign and creative ideas
  • Making brilliant puns on internal chats — or at least laughing supportively when others do so

For this role, we’re looking to pay $50K-$70K, depending on experience.
